Skim to Wake Transfer

Wave rider Austin Keen has done it again and never ceases to amaze us here at OkShoots, from being able to skim to up to 30ft to getting some beastly airs. This is just another one of the things that he does. Check it out below.

Big Wedge

We thought that we should do a Flashback segment on the "World Famous" shorebreak that is the Wedge. Here are some YouTube videos that we pulled on Wedge during the some of the biggest swells to hit the Wedge.

Teahuppo Thursdays

We wanted to find some throwback surfing videos on YouTube, but then we got a little distracted when we stumbled on videos of some of the Tahitian guys surfing their local break. The music may not be the greatest, but the overall wave riding going on is pretty amazing on such a powerful wave.

Clark Little and Shorebreak

One of the biggest big wave photographers in the wave riding industry right now is Clark Little. If you have yet to see this guy’s work, just do a google image search under “Clark Little.” Once you see the images that pop up you should realize that you have probably seen that image somewhere at some time in your life. This guy has helped usher in a different group of watermen photographers who are willing to take the risk of being smashed and thrown around in super heavy shorebreak. Their reward for getting smashed and thrown around is some beautiful pieces of art. Enjoy the two videos that will help you get a better understanding of who Mr. Clark Little is. The first video is from guys over at The Inertia and the second video is from the guys from VICE. Enjoy the clips and follow links below to check out more from these guys.

Saving a fellow Wave Rider's Life

As a wave rider, we feel that each of us should look out for one another in the line-up regardless of what type of wave craft one is using. Having respect for one another in the line-up goes a long ways no matter what break you and your wave riding buddies are surfing at. The following video is of two bodyboarders from Cape Town in South Africa, recognizing that a fellow wave rider is in trouble and what they do to help save his life. Pretty much what we are saying through posting this video is to always remember to respect the power of mother nature and to look out for each other in the line-up, you may end up helping save a life. Also just realize the power you have as wave rider when in the line-up to help save people.
